Austria – Euro

Euro – the official monetary unit of 16 countries – members of the European Union. 

It is subdivided into 100 eurocents. The international currency code of the Euro is EUR.

Euro was officially adopted in 1999 replacing the eku.

The coins in circulation have nominal values of 1, 2, 5, 10, 20 and 50 cents, so and 1 and 2 Euro.

Banknotes in circulation are in denominations of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 200 and 500 Euro.
